Hoping to forge a better life, Denmark native Karen Blixen (Meryl Streep) enters a marriage of convenience with a baron. The couple moves to Nairobi, where Karen finds herself trapped in a loveless marriage as her husband returns to a life of philandering and drinking. Then Karen crosses paths with free-spirited hunter Denys Finch Hatton (Robert Redford): Will their relationship blossom into love, or is Karen headed for heartache?
